James Loughrey joined MC2 Accountants having previously worked with EY and Parfrey Murphy in Cork, moving from his native Belfast in 2013.

James has gained extensive experience working with indigenous businesses across Cork, Munster and Ireland, including numerous entrepreneur-led and family-owned private clients. James has a commercial focus and demonstrates an ability to bring solutions to matters faced by clients.

As Partner in MC2’s Audit & Accounts department, James works hard to make sure clients get a genuine broad service which includes working hand in hand with MC2’s tax and advisory teams.

Education, previous work experience

James has worked with Irish private businesses across numerous sectors, including retail & hospitality, technology, manufacturing and construction. He has worked with indigenous companies from start-up & pre-revenue to well established businesses with turnovers of more than €2 billion. James uses this experience to be flexible to client needs, whatever their size.

James is an Associate of Chartered Accountants Ireland.

Personal

In his spare time James is lucky to still have the opportunity to play sport, including GAA. As well as that he loves spending time with his young family.
