Sean McSweeney, partner at MC2, presents a cheque for €2,250 to Aileen O’Neill, CEO of Cork ARC in front of the newly refurbished Sarsfield House in Wilton.

Cork City based MC2 Accountants today presented a cheque for €2,250 to Cork ARC Cancer Support House on the back of their sponsorship of The Blarney 5’s, a five-a-side soccer tournament.

More than 40 teams, comprised of local businesses, participated in the soccer tournament which took place on the Green in Blarney. The event intended to promote community among local businesses through football and fun while raising awareness and support for a local charity.

Sean McSweeney, Partner at MC2 said: “We thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to sponsor an event that not only promoted the physical health and friendly fellowship between local businesses, but also to support such a well-deserving Cork charity. We hope this contribution will help Cork ARC to continue to provide a safe haven for people with cancer and their families.”

Aileen O’Neill, CEO of Cork ARC, commented: “We are delighted to have been selected by MC2 as their charity partner for the Blarney Fives. This donation will go directly to funding our state-of-the-art cancer support services in Sarsfield House. We have asked the people of Cork to Make Room for ARC, and they have answered with such generosity and passion. We are beyond thankful for this support that enables us to continue to support people with cancer in what can be a very lonely and overwhelming journey.”

Sean McSweeney added: “We would like to thank all of the teams who participated and give a special thank you to Blarney United, without whose help and support this tournament would not have been possible.”
