Introduce yourself – My name is Louise Sheane, I began working with MC2 Accountants in January 2021.
Tell us about your role with MC2 – My role is working as a Manager in the Medical Accounts Department in MC2 Accountants. Primarily working with clients in the medical profession, looking after their annual statutory accounts, company secretarial requirements and providing any other financial and taxation advice required.
Talk to us about your career progression and how MC2 fits into this – As a qualified accountant with ACCA I have spent my career to date working with a variety of industries and clients. I spent some time working in different industries whilst living and travelling in Australia and England. Being originally from Cork and now raising a family here I am looking forward to progressing my career with MC2.
What do you find most rewarding and most challenging about your role? – Without a doubt starting in a new position during the ongoing Covid 19 Pandemic and primarily working remotely has been a challenge. However, within MC2 we have had to develop systems to make this way of working efficient and effective and it is exciting to be involved in the practice at this time of change.
What has been your best moment so far as a manager? Finding my feet within the practice and getting to know my new work colleagues over zoom meetings and zoom ‘nights out’.
What does a typical work day look like for you? What are your job responsibilities? My day will generally include a mix of client meetings, inhouse meetings, preparing clients year end accounts, monitoring upcoming deadlines and workflow and many other adhoc duties, my days are varied and busy.
What are you most looking forward to achieving this year at the firm? I am looking forward to becoming more established in my new role and getting to know the clients I will be working with.
What do you like most about working at MC2? There is a great culture and atmosphere within the office. Going over and above for our clients is very important, whilst at the same time enjoying our jobs and a good work life balance.
What is your greatest strength as a manager at MC2? Organization, professionalism and technical skills.
